How Can We Help?
Polygon Atlanta was an event space in Midtown Atlanta designed for web, tech, and creative gatherings. The venue is now closed, having achieved its goal of supporting the local tech collective, with operations ending by 2016.

Atlanta, Georgia, 30363
For years, the local web and tech community needed a centrally located gathering place in Midtown, somewhere developers, designers, and technologists could meet on a regular basis to swap ideas. Polygon Atlanta answered that need by offering an accessible, intentionally plain event space where the focus stayed on the work and the people doing it, rather than on flashy decor. The venue supported meetups, talks, and creative gatherings at reasonable rates, helping unify a growing scene that was already happening across the city and giving it a shared address to call home.
The physical footprint of the space was shaped by its neighborhood. Tucked into the upper floors of a building near the intersection of 19th Street and the Westside, the venue sat within easy reach of established gathering spots like the Garage and Strongbox, allowing attendees to flow between formal sessions and informal conversations in nearby restaurants and bars. That proximity to other venues reinforced a sense of community already in motion, and it made Polygon a natural hub rather than an isolated destination for visitors and regulars alike.
Programming at the venue reflected the breadth of the local industry. Web designers, front-end developers, backend engineers, product thinkers, and creative directors all passed through its doors, often within a single evening of overlapping meetups. The team behind Polygon believed that the most exciting trajectory for the city came from cross-pollination, so they welcomed groups working on everything from open source tools to independent publications, and they encouraged newcomers to show up without needing to know anyone before arriving.
As the Atlanta tech scene matured, the goals of the space shifted. The original mission of expanding, unifying, and supporting the local creative and technical collective had largely been achieved by the mid-2010s, as new venues opened and existing organizations grew stronger on their own. Recognizing that progress, the operators made the thoughtful decision to close the space rather than let it become redundant, leaving the community it had helped cultivate to continue its upward trajectory in a city that was clearly watching its continued growth with great interest.
The legacy of Polygon Atlanta is best understood as a foundation rather than a finished product. By offering a centrally located, accessible home for gatherings during a pivotal stretch, it helped legitimize the idea that the local industry deserved multiple dedicated venues. Many of the regulars who first connected there went on to lead their own communities, mentor newcomers, and shape the city's identity as a serious destination for web, design, and creative technology, carrying forward the encouraging, inclusive spirit that defined the space from its earliest days.
