Because Polygon was built for gatherings, attendees can arrive early for coffee, break for lunch, and wrap up the evening nearby without a long trip between venues.

Polygon Atlanta was conceived as an event space for the web, tech and creative communities of Midtown Atlanta, a place where technologists, designers and developers could gather, share ideas and grow together as a collective. Its central location meant that regular gatherings, talks and community evenings could happen without long travel between venues, and that the surrounding neighborhood could support an expanding calendar of events for the industry.

That neighborhood is still one of the city's most convenient for everyday needs, with coffee, food, drinks, clothing and general supplies all available within a short walk of the former venue on 19th Street NW. Because the space was built for gatherings rather than for extended day-long visits, attendees could easily arrive early for coffee, break for lunch and wrap up the evening nearby, making the surrounding blocks a natural extension of any event held there.

Polygon also benefited from generous sponsorship from local companies that believed in its mission of unifying and supporting Atlanta's creative and technical community. Parking, transit and walkability were part of the planning from the beginning, with the goal of offering accessible, reasonably priced and welcoming gathering space in the heart of Midtown. Although the space has now closed, the trajectory it set for community-driven events in the city continues to be watched with interest.
